Remote Access for Clinical Key

There are a few ways to access Clinical Key off-site, but they all involve first setting up a personal account on-site at a work computer so that Clinical Key knows you fall under our license.  Please refer to the articles below for more info and tutorials about how to set things up.

Already have a personal account, but forgot your password?  

          > You should be prompted to reset the password when you try to log in.

There is a rule about signing in on-site every 180 days, as this lets Clinical Key know that you are still with the organization and have rightful access.  They set that up for academic settings where students and faculty move on and no longer have rightful access.    Why did my remote access expire?

If you need to log on remotely and cannot be onsite, use the VPN as usual.  That should work to get you behind the firewall and reset the access.

Answer:  Ascension Wisconsin Libraries’ Emailed Table-of-Contents (eTOCs)/ New Issue Alert Service.  

As Clinical Medical Librarians, we understand that you’re busy with patient care, and that keeping up with the current literature in your field can be difficult, time consuming, and even expensive.  We’ve developed a way of delivering table-of-contents from your favorite professional journals to your email box.  

Here are a few of our most popular titles:

eTOCs are free, easy, and convenient!  Many more titles are available ...

1. Look for eTOC sign-up sheets at the Ascension Wisconsin Libraries LibGuides  http://ascension-wi.libguides.com/libraryservices/etocs.
2. Select either the Clin eTOC, Med eTOC, or Lead eTOC form.
3. Review the journal titles available for eTOC service.
4. Select the journal titles for which you’d like to receive current table-of-contents.  Mark your selections on the form.
5. Return the form to Michele.Matucheski@ascension.org
6. As new issues of the journals you selected are released, you will receive an email message with the table-of-contents in your Ascension email box.
7. Click on the articles you want to read in full.

 It's that simple!

Trouble with the access? 

If you are working remotely, be sure that you are signed in on your local VPN.  Our access to AORN depends on our IPs, which is the only way the vendors know you fall under our subscriptions.  Even if you are working from home, you need to appear to be coming from behind our AW firewalls to access AORN and other Library resources.  If you are on site, it should be no problem.

Introducing Natural Medicines Database - Now available Statewide for Ascension Wisconsin

Several people have asked whether we have a database which provides information about vitamins, therapeutic and non-prescription medicines.  I am happy to say we finally signed a contract that provides The Natural Medicines database for all of Wisconsin.
