Q: Why can't I access the pdf of a book chapter in Clinical Key?

Question: Why can't I access the pdf of a book chapter in Clinical Key (CK) if Ascension Wisconsin has a subscription?

Answer: To access book chapters as pdfs in Clinical Key (CK), sign in with a personal account.

Why?  The publisher was seeing too many anonymous users printing off entire textbooks, so requiring people to sign in helps to curb that abusive behavior.  CK is meant to be a reference library, where you can look things up as needed, without having to print off vast amounts.

When you sign in with a personal account, those locked book chapters will open.  

You'll see a tag at the bottom of the pdfs that identifies the person who downloaded the chapter.  That's part of Elsevier's plan to curb rampant copyright abuse.
