How Do I Cite eBooks or eJournals from Clinical Key?

 


Question: How do I cite journal articles or books from ClinicalKey?

Clinical Key does not currently offer a citation utility for it's fulltext content.

Answer: Journal articles and books should be cited according to the American Medical Association's Manual of Style, 10th Edition. Submission guidelines for references may vary from publication to publication so we advise that you check the specific guidelines for submission.

The examples below show sample AMA citation formats for books and journals:

Books

Format: Author(s). Chapter title. In: Editor(s). Book Title. [Edition number, if it is the second edition or above; mention of first edition is not necessary] ed. City, State (or country) of publisher: Publisher’s name; copyright year:inclusive pages. [ClinicalKey] website. URL. Accessed [date]. Please Note: If the reference is to the entire book, the information about chapter title and inclusive pages is not included.

Example: Bernstein D. General principles of treatment of congenital heart disease. In: Kliegman RM, Stanton BF, St Geme JW, and Schor N, eds. Nelson Textbook of Pediatrics. 20th ed. Journals

Format: Author(s). Article title. Journal Name. Year;Volume(Issue No.):Inclusive pages. ClinicalKey website. URL. Published [date]. Updated [date]. Accessed [date].
