Intermittent Access Issues with DynaMed: Access Restored

DynaMed has been restored across all Ascension WI access points including through the Intranet, EPIC and on your mobile devices.

Since the new year, Ascension Wisconsin has been experiencing intermittent access issues with DynaMed.   Apologies to all who are being impacted by this disruption-in-service.

What's Happening: 

  • You may see a notice about an inactive subscription when you try to login to DynaMed wor when accessing fulltext content.

DynaMed is a nationwide Ascension contract, so everyone across Ascension should have access to it. 

  • The subscription has indeed been renewed and 
  • It is still our go-to physician / provider point-of-care tool at Ascension.  
However, DynaMed is currently down in some parts of the Wisconsin right now.  
When seven institutions in the Northern part of WI transitioned to Aspirus, the vendor turned off their service.  It looks like EBSCO accidentally turned off service in some other areas too.

We have been in contact with the vendor over the last few days and they are working diligently to get everyone back online.

Things to try :
  • Try getting into the database again.  Several associates have told me they were able to access DynaMed later when they tried again.
  • Is there something we can look up for you?  Just ask ...
